We celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary at this hotel, and while the overwater bungalow was breathtaking and the views phenomenal, we found the dining and service aspects a bit disappointing. Drinks and meals were quite pricey, and some attention to detail was lacking. Regardless, it’s a stunning destination worth experiencing, just be prepared for the high costs involved.

The Sapphire Over Water bungalow was spacious, beautifully furnished, and offered incredible views of the ocean. It was everything we hoped for and more.
Service
6.0
Service was somewhat variable; we had to follow up often for replenishments, and despite confirming our anniversary, there was no special gesture from the staff.
Location
9.0
The hotel has an amazing location, arguably the best in Bora Bora, with stunning ocean views. However, the beach area was a bit rocky, which could be a concern for some.
Dining
5.0
Dining was average and repetitive, especially considering the high prices. The breakfast served via canoe was delightful but came with a steep extra charge.
Facilities
8.0
The overall facilities were nice and well-kept, adding to the luxurious feel of the resort.

I had an amazing stay filled with unforgettable views, especially of Mount Otemanu, and the bungalow was incredible. The staff was attentive and made me feel welcome, but I was a bit disappointed with the dining options and the additional charges for basics like water. Overall, a beautiful resort with a few minor annoyances that didn't overshadow the experience.

The bungalow was spacious, featuring a great living room and a direct entrance to the lagoon, which made it a dream come true.

The staff knew my name and were very friendly, but there were a few hiccups with returning our items after meals.
Location

Breakfast was delightful with variety, but I found the evening meals to be quite average, especially given the high prices.

This resort offers stunning views and a magical atmosphere, perfect for a honeymoon or anniversary trip. The rooms are comfortable and well-equipped, although some minor housekeeping issues arose during our stay. The service was warm and attentive, making us feel special. The dining options were enjoyable, but expect higher prices for meals. Overall, it was a trip of a lifetime, but be mindful of a few areas for improvement.

Our suite had a breathtaking view of the mountain and was very spacious, providing all the necessary toiletries for our convenience.
Service

The staff was incredibly warm and welcoming, and they made sure we had everything we needed for a memorable stay.
Location

Perched on a motu, the resort's location offers spectacular views and easy access to the crystal-clear lagoon, just a short boat ride from the main island.
Dining
8.0
We loved every meal, with fresh ingredients and delicious flavors, but be prepared for the pricier menu items.
Facilities
9.0
The resort's facilities are well-maintained, including the beautiful pool area, though we spent most of our time in the lagoon.

The Intercontinental Thalasso Resort is stunning, with breathtaking views and luxurious accommodations that truly feel like a getaway. The overwater villas are spectacular, and the setting is idyllic for relaxation. However, the food and service left much to be desired, often feeling repetitive and uninspired. The location, while beautiful, can feel isolating, especially when amenities are limited on-site and dining options lack variety.

Rooms
10.0
Our overwater villa was huge, clean, and beautifully decorated with stunning views of Mount Otemanu. It was a pleasure to wake up to such a breathtaking sight.
Service
5.0
The staff ranged from friendly to underwhelming, with some staff not seeming well-trained in English. Specifically, we found the front desk staff a bit unfriendly and not very responsive to requests.
Location
8.0
Situated on a motu, the views of Bora Bora and the lagoon are exceptional. However, the isolation can make it challenging to explore beyond the resort, and access to nearby attractions requires a paid boat shuttle.
Dining
6.0
While some meals at Le Corail were satisfying, overall the dining experience lacked variety and flair. Breakfast felt repetitive, and dinner options were quite pricey for what was offered.
Facilities
7.0
The resort grounds and pool area were well-maintained, but some fitness equipment was out of order during our stay, which was disappointing.

My family and I had an unforgettable experience at this resort. The stunning views and luxurious accommodations were highlights, but there were some service hiccups that left room for improvement. While the private pool at our suite was incredible, the dining options didn't always meet expectations, especially given the price. Overall, it's worth a visit for the breathtaking setting and beautiful rooms, though there are a few areas that could be enhanced.

Rooms

The Brando Suites were luxurious and beautifully designed. Our private pool was the largest bungalow pool in French Polynesia, adding to the experience immensely.
Service
7.0
While some staff members were warm and welcoming, we encountered a few issues with our accommodations that required multiple follow-ups.
Location
10.0
The views of Bora Bora from the resort are nothing short of spectacular, and the overall ambiance is incredibly serene.
Dining
6.0
The dining at Sands and Reef was just okay, but the fine dining experience at Corail was much better. However, some of the food options seemed not to live up to the resort's star rating.
Facilities
8.0
The facilities were impressive overall, with beautiful landscaping and well-maintained pool areas, although the spa experience fell short of expectations.
